Malik carried Lorelei's prone body up the stairs to her apartment. He'd get her back from that place.  Asmodeus' trance had placed Lorelei's subconscious mind in a place deep in the astral plane, much further past the dreamscape he normally never left.  He knew the possibility of breaking such a capture was almost impossible. He also knew the types of creatures that stalked the Astral Planes. But there was a closed door between the Dreamscape and where he needed to go, and for that, he needed the key.

He placed Lorelei down on her bed and pulled the pale cream sheets up over her. He sat on the side of the bed and watched her as he'd done a few times before. Her chest still rose and fell with tiny breaths, her lips slightly parted. But the light was gone. This wasn't Lorelei, it was a shell, much like his own body was when his spirit left his body.

"I'll bring you back Lorelei," he whispered, tracing her cheek bone with his thumb.  "I already pissed off this Asmodeus guy once, I don't mind doing the tango with him again, so long as I get what I want. He's about to have a nasty wake up call."

Malik kicked off his shoes and his jacket, laying next to the blonde in only jeans and a white tank top, his blue hair bright against the pale colors of the pillows and sheets.

"Sweet Dreams, Lorelei," he whispered as he closed his own eyes.

Asmodeus jarred awake from a pleasant sleep far across the city. He looked around his apartment with a sneer and smirked.

"Nice try, little Mara," he laughed.

"Yes, it was, wasn't it?"

Asmodeus turned sharply and narrowed his eyes on the blue haired young man standing casually in his bedroom, watching him with angry green eyes.

"How'd you get in here, you riffraff?" he sneered, his flat eyes curious. "You're not clever enough to have snuck in here."

"You'd think a demon of your class would know what's real and what's not," Malik said, smirking calmly.  "I got you trapped, Asmodeus, and you're not getting out of this until you open the door."

The sin demon frowned and slid from the inky black silk sheets of his bed. He stopped as the floor beneath him squished and he looked down to see his pristine white carpet stained black, squishing under his feet completely sopping wet.
"You're really as stupid as you look, Mara," he laughed and started towards the other, murder promised in his eyes. But when he lunged at Malik, he hit the wall. He turned around quickly, seeing Malik sitting on top of his armoire, tapping his fingers on his knee.  "what trick is this, Nightmare?"

Asmodeus was starting to get annoyed, his voice hissing and deepening as he became angry.

"It's not a trick. It's exactly that," Malik said with a blank face.  "Misperception of reality is common in humans, but I never thought a demon like you would be so easy to catch in a waking dream."

Asmodeus stopped and looked at the Mara as he realized exactly what was happening. He wasn't truly awake. He narrowed his eyes in annoyance but there was a trickle of amusement and surprise beside it. Mara's weren't common, and they were not powerful, but once in their realm, the land of Dreams, a Mara could keep a victim comatose for months, siphoning off their energy, while they're body laid the same.

"I've been feeding on you for over an hour already, Sinner," Malik said icily. "You're in my world, bitch. How's it feel to be trapped?"

Asmodeus let out a furious hiss between his teeth and stepped forward only to feel slimy hands grabbing his legs. He looked down to see the hands and arms stuck up from the sopping floor as if from a sea of black beneath him. The hands pulled on his legs and Asmodeus let out a curse as he felt himself sink slightly.

"If those things drag you down, even I won't be able to get you back, Asmodeus," Malik smirked. "Dream Demons hunt the entire astral plane for easy meals. They know I'm here but they know you're something tastier."

Asmodeus smirked. As much as he detested losing, he admired this demon's spunk. He could use that and his powers in the future.

"You want her back?" he purred, his voice smooth as silk. He bit back a laugh at the sudden eager look in the Mara's eyes. Pathetic, a demon falling in love with a human. But it made this a much easier deal to make.  "I'll release her, you just have to coax her out. She's living out her dearest dreams and only she can  decide to return."

Malik nodded and suddenly the hands wrapped around Asmodeus' ankles released, animalistic screams sounding as the floor in the room returned to it's pristine white.

"Do it," Malik said as he hopped down from the armoire, walking up to Asmodeus.

"What do I get in return?" Asmodeus smirked. He wasn't about to walk away empty handed after being humiliated like this.

"You really think you're in a position to barter?" Malik growled but his anger faltered seeing the hostile look in the demon's eye. The Sinner didn't really care if he got caught here and Malik knew that when  his astral spirit was damaged, so was his actual body.

Asmodeus laughed seeing the fear strike in the Mara's eyes. He'd won.

"I don't have anything you'd want," Malik said darkly.

"Oh but you do," the sin demon smirked. "You want the key to the Astral Planes. I want access to the Dreamscape."

Malik blinked and clenched his fists slightly. It was possible to give the demon his wish. Bloodletting, willing bloodletting, between two demons allowed them to share powers. While Asmodeus could never feed on dreams as he did, he'd be able to enter the dreams of humans and manipulate them.  It was dangerous for a demon as powerful as this one already was to have that type of power. But to bring Lorelei back, any price was right.

"Deal," he ground out. "I'll come to you as soon as I bring Lorelei back."

"Perfect," Asmodeus smirked. "She's waiting for you now, Little Nightmare. Better hurry."

Malik narrowed his eyes at the demon and vanished from sight.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Asmodeus opened his eyes as he sat up on his couch, smirking calmly.  The Mara was more clever than he'd given credit. To have trapped him so efficiently that it had caused a waking dream, that was talent. He may have lost a new plaything, but what he'd gained from this altercation was much, much more usable.

"A whole new playground," he grinned and stood to go pour himself a glass of wine.
Malik is determined to rescue Lorelei from the Astral Plane, but first he needs some help from a certain Sinner.
